Here are three more of the figurative floral series I am creating.

It's done with indie ink, and gold acrylic using a tiny paint brush

ALMOST DONE!!! I just need to add some highlights here and there and then I need to put a gold glaze over the yellow circle.

Today I repainted the white, and back ground colors.
I'm still fixing the gold circle.
Basically, I thought lightening it up would be a good idea, but it wasn't... It desaturated everything and looked horrible, so I combined some of my micro gold with my Mayan Gold to create a glaze.
Then I put some gold foil on it as well.

Once this dried I'm creating another gold glaze over to darken it up just a tiny bit.
Then I am going to work on the tangent, which is going on with some parts of her body.

this is just a close up of the faces.

This has been my latest.
It's involving the concept of intimacy along with yin and yang mixed with fertility.

The dimensions are around 14"x22" or so.

I also tea stained the paper using India Spice tea and well as Earl Grey.
Then I used india ink to create the figures.

Water color along with acrylic paint will be used on the flowers.

This painting started out as a sketch I did back in November while I was super bored listening to an artist talk.

This is entitled "Nest"

She is still in progress, and I totally messed it up last night... thinking an idea would be a good one.... it wasn't.

I'm fixing that later today.

(I'm sorry this image is so blurry. Also she will be stretched once I get enough money)

"Personification (of Mother Nature)"
Mixed media ( Oil paint, charcoal, pastel, oil pastel, acrylic, cloth, thread, egg tempera, Mayan gold powder)

2011-2012

This painting is the first large painting I have done since I was sixteen years old, it's about 3'x3.5'.
I got the beginning idea for this painting after one of my best friends, Ariell and I were on an adventure and three deer ran out in front of us. Something clicked in my brain.

These images are to show the progression of the painting, I don't have all of them because in all honesty I was stupid and deleted a ton of them from my phone.

"Wisdom"
October 2011
Oil paint and Mayan gold powder

After my first review (which was like finding out that the milk you had just bought was sour and all of your eggs were cracked) I was stuck. One of my best friends Tamara recommended that I should watch/ listen to some of Joseph Campbell's teachings/ lectures on Netflix, because they are about spirituality and she found them to be helpful.

This is what came of it.

It has repeated in Sanskrit over and over again " Lead me from unreal to Real, Lead me from darkness to the  Light, Lead me from the fear of death, To the Knowledge of Immortality."

"Me, Myself and I"
Oil paint
2011

This was created in September of 201l, I still wasn't quite sure what I was having as a thesis quite yet. I knew I wanted to do something with mythology. So I decided to play around with ideas that I enjoyed.
This is based off of the ancient greek goddess Hekate, Goddess of cross roads, the moon ( during the reign of the Titans) and is represented as the maiden, mother and crone. Her feast night is on my birthday so she holds a special place in a heart.
My artwork for Senior Seminar revolves all around what it means to be a female, in spirituality, reality and to myself.
This blog is to keep a record of my artwork and my struggles as an artist.
